KIDS IN ART 2022

KIDS IN ART (KIA) 2022 was a great SUCCESS!!! We had students from 7 schools, including students from Eclectic Love to show case their sculpture and mask making talents. Our students went through an intensive two week training at Eclectic Love, Ho. During the first week, students were taught about African tribal masks as well as how to make masks from paper mache. At the end of the week, they made their own individual mask and a group mask, which was done according to schools. The second week, students learned how to make sculptures. They started with Geisha soap and used palm tree branches as their tools for cutting. Then they made large sculptures from clay. At the end of the two weeks, on August 27, 2022, we had our art exhibition and inter-school quiz competition. This year our overall school winner was Ho- Heve Basic School. Our first place mask was done by Toufic at Ho Dome E.P. Basic School. Our first place sculpture was Graw Agbinku from Ho- Heve Basic School. The Inter-School quiz competition winner was Eclectic Love (EL) with Beatrice Quarshie and Sefam Adzivor representing EL. During our art exhibition, there was face painting, dance competitions, prizes, balloons, reading time with volunteers and The Joint Cafe came out to provide popcorn for all of the children that were present.
