Yesterday’s offline session at the Rise World Summit, “Creative Learning – Integrating Arts in Climate Education,” with RISE Infinity Foundation and Idobro Impact Solutions was nothing short of inspiring! We dove deep into how art can be a powerful force for environmental awareness, aligning perfectly with Sustainable Development Goals 4, 11, 12, 13, and 15.
A big shoutout to the enthusiastic students and teachers from Ho A.M.E Zion School, Ho Heve E.P. Primary School, and Ho Dome R.C Primary School. With 11 students in attendance, their energy and passion were truly contagious!
Our discussion spotlighted Ghanaian artists like Ibrahim Mahama, nicholas wayo, Tei Huagie, serge attukwei clottey, and El Anatsui. These trailblazers are not just creating art; they’re making a difference and saving our planet. From vibrant murals to sculptures from recycled materials, their work exemplifies how creativity can spearhead environmental change.
The highlight? Our hands-on creative session! Students and teachers alike got their hands dirty (literally!), using twigs, flowers, and various vegetation to craft stunning artworks. It was amazing to see how everyday materials, often overlooked, were transformed into expressions of environmental care and beauty.
This session wasn’t just an educational experience; it was a reminder of the incredible power of combining arts with climate education. As we continue to promote this synergy, we’re not just nurturing creativity; we’re shaping a more sustainable future.
